  • COMMUNITY  FOCUS  MEETING The library is in the process of creating a new five-year long-range plan.  We need you to help guide the future of our library.  The meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 15th, from 6-8 pm.  Please call Daryl at the library (848-7458) with any questions.
  • HUNGER  GAMES  TEEN  DISCUSSION  GROUP For those who have read the book, we will be discussing The Hunger Games, Katniss (of course), and exploring the country of Panem.  We will only be discussing book one, The Hunger Games, by Susanne Collins. Extra copies of the book are available at the library. Join us Monday, May 14th at the Bristol Public Library starting at 5 pm.
  • PLANT  SWAP Now is the time to start preparing for our annual plant swap to be held Monday,  May 21st from 6-8 pm. Get those extra plant starts and cuttings potted up to start rooting!
  • SUMMER  READING  PROGRAM June 1st Bristol Public Library’s Summer Reading Program “Dream Big-Read” starts for all ages, 2-102.  Register to participate in prize drawings, our annual Fun Fair, and the many exciting programs planned for June and July.
  • QUILT  RAFFLE The Friends of the Library have received a “happy quilt” donated by Charlene Potterbaum.  Tickets will go on sale starting Monday, May 7th.  The drawing will be held on Saturday, July 9th, during the Homecoming book sale.  Raffle tickets will sell for $1.00 a chance, or six chances for $5.00.  Stop by the library to see the quilt and get your tickets!
  • PRESCHOOL  STORYTIME has resumed on Mondays at 10:30 or Tuesdays at 12:30.  Please call to register your 3-5 year old for “Flowers, Showers, and Sun”.  This Spring Storytime includes outdoor activities–weather permitting.  Call 848-7458 to enroll today.
  • TEEN  PROGRAM The next teen program will meet for a movie or wii on Thursday, May 10 at 6 pm.
  • BOOK  CLUB The Breakdown Lane by Jacquelyn Mitchard is the book featured for next month’s Book Club.  We will meet at 12:00 on Wednesday, May 9th for an interesting discussion.  Copies of the book will be available at the circulation desk.
  • SOUL, INK: Soul, Ink is a Writer’s Group hosted by the Bristol Public Library.  We will meet Wednesday, May 16 Contact Desiree at 848-7458 for more information.
  • CALLING  ALL  CRAFTERS! Calling All Crafters (formerly Knitters) will meet the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month to work on their crafts in the library.  Bring your current project.  Don’t have one? No problem! Stop by and learn a new craft or two May 8!
  • HOMEBOUND  SERVICES Remember we do have a Homebound Program for the ill or elderly who cannot access the library on their own.  Please call 848-7458 for more information.
