Dear Editor:

Friday evening (January 9) was a double opening night for Elkhart Civic Theatre at the Bristol Opera House.  Not only was it opening night for our production of Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple,” it was also “opening night” for our expanded women’s restroom facilities.  While this may not seem like big news, the new restroom represents a major improvement in comfort and convenience for our patrons.

The project came to fruition due to a generous donation from the Elkhart County Community Foundation, backed up by a “challenge” from Laura and Jack B. Smith, Jr.  Our patrons got excited about the project,  and supported us to our final goal.

In addition to the countless patrons who donated, we’d like to thank the major donors above, plus the following individuals and organizations who provided needed building materials:

Michael Greene – Sierra Interiors

Mid-City Supply

Wabash Electric

Varns & Hoover Hardware

Robert Weed Plywood

Troyer Flooring

Big C Lumber

It’s wonderful to have this kind of support for  Elkhart County’s original community theatre.
