The five generation family has also operated a four generation family business in Bristol for almost 50 years.

Dick and Mary Jane Wall opened Mary Jane’s Beauty Salon in 1964. It was located between what now houses the Red Bird Tavern and the Opera House. They then moved down to the East end  of Bristol in 1966 where Karlene joined her mother in the business.  Mary Jane’s was located there for thirteen years.

They then moved on to their present location, now known as the Bristol O’Hair Port on Chaptoula Street in 1979.

Mary Jane graduated from Beauty School in 1959, daughter Karlene graduated in 1966, great-granddaughter Bethany in 2009, great-granddaughter Morgan in 2010 and granddaughter Janele in 2011.  All girls attended Vogue Beauty School.  They have now been in business for 48 years.
