Two things can be said of Bristol Little League families:  they love their kids, and they love baseball and softball.  There could be no other explanation for all the smiles at Opening Day Ceremonies celebrated Saturday, April 30th despite the chilly weather and high winds.

Kicking off its 56th season, Bristol Little League is fielding fourteen baseball and softball teams this year.  The ceremony featured all the traditions that mark this time-tested ritual.  “We raise the flag, play the national anthem, say the players pledge, and Play Ball!”, declared League President, Mike Tribble.  The ceremony is capped-off by the running of the bases for every team, and a ceremonial first pitch from baseball and softball.  This years honorary first-pitch duos were players Jackson Wiltfong & Carter Misener, and Nikayla Foulk & Sara Bliss.

“It’s a special time for us to honor our traditions, and give thanks to our generous sponsors, most of whom come from the Bristol community”, said Tribble.  “We invite everyone to come out to see a game, and look forward to another great season of Little League in Bristol.”

The daily game schedule is available to the public at www.bristollittleleague.org.
