Dr. Derrick Hendricks of Amberwood Terrace Chiropractic (ATC) is pleased that his state-of-the-art office is enabling his patients to experience pain relief and increased mobility. His modern, spacious facilities are located in the Amberwood Terrace commercial development near the intersection of CR 17 and CR 14 (Middlebury Street).
The SpineMED decompression table, the only one in the Michiana area, is the “most technologically advanced spinal decompression system” available. It is intended for treatment of patients with herniated discs, degenerative discs, and bulging discs in both the neck and the back.
The typical patient is on the SpineMED table for 30 minutes, experiencing a gentle pumping action that is safe and pain-free. Movies are available for viewing or CDs for listening to music during each session, but it is not uncommon for patients to fall asleep during the procedure. Many report complete resolution of symptoms after the prescribed course of treatments.
Dr. Hendricks states that “spinal decompression allows the body to heal naturally, without harmful drugs or invasive spinal surgery.” He recommends that surgery should be the last option considered.
Another successful modern device utilized by Dr. Hendricks is the ProAdjuster, a “computer-driven adjustment instrument.” After analyzing the spine and displaying the results on a computer screen, a carefully controlled instrument, not the doctor’s hands, performs the needed adjustment, utilizing a precise oscillating force.
Dr. Hendricks says the ProAdjuster technology is important in his practice, because it enables him to remove the fear that keeps many people from seeking chiropractic treatment. Even though he continues to administer manual adjustments when appropriate, the ProAdjuster allows him to successfully treat patients who prefer not to undergo such manual adjustments.
Also available at Amberwood Terrace Chiropractic are the services of two certified massage therapists, Sarah Cozort and Brittni Hoffman, one of whom is on hand five days a week. Dr. Hendricks reports that Sarah and Brittni have experienced “excellent results,” describing their efforts as “very therapeutic.”
Hours for Dr. Hendricks are 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, with a lunch period from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. The therapists are available Monday through Friday. The clinic is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Call 522-2255 for an appointment.
Dr. Hendricks is pleased that more and more people are taking responsibility for their own health care. He is eager to promote this trend by emphasizing diet, exercise, weight loss, and the proper use of neutraceuticals.
