Star Tank Corrosion Control (STCC) is a new Bristol firm, located at 710 S. Division Street (SR 15 S). A sign in front of the building advertises “sandblasting and painting.” These are the services STCC wants to highlight for the Bristol community, according to Leif Bouskill, one of the owners, because they can serve a wide variety of customers.

The “tank” in the company’s name denotes a specialty in which storage tanks are lined with fiberglass, rubber, or epoxy to prevent corrosion. Some of this work is done at the Bristol site, but much of it is done “in the field,” for which STCC employees travel all over, even overseas.
Four individuals formed a partnership to found Star Tank Corrosion Control. They are, in addition to Leif, Brian Ball, Kevin Varney, and Shawn Vertrees.

Business hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, but personnel are on call 24/7 by phoning 848-4444.

Leif and his colleagues are offering free quotes on sandblasting and/or painting any suitable items. Some of the items they have refurbished include horse trailers, tractors, car fenders, snow plow blades, lawn furniture, and pot bellied stoves.

STCC began operations in South Bend about 18 months ago. Leif says that he and his partners are quite pleased with their situation in Bristol, and look forward to expanding their business here in 2010.
