ECHS to present “It Was A Dark and Stormy Night”

Elkhart Central High School Drama Department presents “It was a Dark and Stormy Night” by Tim Kelly.  This play is a suspenseful horror thriller based on the movies of the 1950′s.  Although it has comedy built in, it offers many chills for the audience.  It takes place at “Ye Olde Wayside Inn” that dates from the Revolutionary War in Massachusetts.  It is inhabited by four crazed members of the demented Saltmarsh clan:  Ebeneezer [Zack Rivers], Silas [Michael Goins], Hepzibah [Emily Congdon] and Arabella [Katie Mathias].  Ebeneezer often has fits that lead him to advertise for a young, unattached nurse to care for a special “patient.”  Ebeneezer was jilted at the altar in his youth, and he wants to use unsuspecting nurses to get his revenges.  His cousins, Hepzibah and Arabella are terrified of him, and are unwilling accessories to his diabolical plans.

Performance dates are October 16th and 17th, 2009, at 7 PM in the school’s auditorium.  Tickets can be purchased by contacting the school at 574-295-4700, or at the box office the night of each performance.
