Dan Watson, president, and Laura Snow, vice-president, have announced the recent move of Watson Computer Services, Inc. (WCS) to 608 E. Vistula Street in Bristol, across from St. John’s Episcopal Church. The phone number remains 848-1311.
The new location provides more space for the business in a separate structure, which is located behind the residence. Customers are invited to drive directly to the building and park there.
Hours for WCS are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Since much of Dan’s computer repair business requires his absence from the premises, patrons are requested to call before stopping in.
Because Dan now has more room, he plans to give computer lessons, starting in August. He will tailor these sessions to an individual or to small groups with similar interests.
The basic rate for computer repair service is $65 an hour in house and $95 an hour at the customer’s location. Free pickup and delivery is offered in the Bristol area. Charges for such service outside Bristol range from $25 to $45.
WCS remains committed to helping individuals with their personal home computers and to assisting small businesses with their computing and networking needs. Dan has made a specialty of diagnosing problems with worms, viruses, and spyware. After eliminating these common and troublesome afflictions, firewalls and other defenses are provided to prevent their recurrence. Dan charges $65 for a basic cleanup and $130 to back up all stored data and completely restore a personal computer.
Dan is willing to provide any prospect a free quote on a customized home computer system. Because many in this area are unemployed or under-employed, Dan is willing to make arrangements for payment that will help those who are temporarily undergoing economic difficulties.
Dan and Laura are committed to serving the Bristol community as business owners and as volunteers. Dan is president of the Bristol Homecoming Committee, an elected member of the Bristol Town Council, and a member of the steering committee of a new community organization called Leadership Enhancement and Development (LEAD).
The business website for Watson Computer Services is www.watsoncs.com and the e-mail address is dan@watsoncs.com.
